1. Program Overview

The URN Health Sciences Research Internship is a structured, mentor-guided program designed for Masters, Postgraduate, and early-career researchers. The program provides hands-on training across 8 comprehensive modules with real-world project experience.

  • Duration: 60 days (One-Time) or 30 days/cycle (Monthly Subscription)
  • Mode: Online + Hybrid (Field visits as applicable)
  • Location: Utkarsh Research Network (Online + Hybrid Mode)
  • Certificate: Internship Completion Certificate upon successful completion
  • Deliverables: Thesis/dissertation support, co-authorship opportunity, Letter of Recommendation

3. Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion, interns will be able to:

  1. Design and conduct systematic reviews following Cochrane and PRISMA guidelines
  2. Perform meta-analysis using RevMan, R, and other statistical software
  3. Analyze large-scale national health datasets (NFHS, LASI, GBD, DAD)
  4. Collect primary data using validated tools and ethical frameworks
  5. Apply biostatistical methods for health research
  6. Write thesis chapters and publishable manuscripts
  7. Navigate the peer review and journal submission process

4. Schedule & Attendance

  • Working Hours: Flexible online schedule with weekly live sessions (2-3 hrs/week)
  • Minimum Attendance: 75% attendance is mandatory for certificate eligibility
  • Weekly Submissions: Each module requires a weekly assignment/report submission
  • Mentor Sessions: Bi-weekly one-on-one mentoring with assigned supervisor
  • Progress Tracking: Track your progress in real-time via the Member Dashboard

5. Assessment & Evaluation

  • Module Assessments (60%): Weekly assignments, quizzes, and practical submissions
  • Final Project (30%): Thesis chapter / research manuscript / data analysis report
  • Participation (10%): Attendance, engagement in discussions, peer support
  • Passing Criteria: Minimum 60% overall score to receive the certificate

  • Interns must not share proprietary methodologies or datasets externally
