Submission Guidelines

Before You Submit
UJHSE welcomes original contributions in public health, environmental health, clinical research, occupational health, epidemiology, and health policy. Please review the following guidelines carefully before preparing your manuscript.
Accepted Manuscript Types
Up to 5,000 words (excluding references). Must include abstract, introduction, methods, results, and discussion (IMRAD).
Narrative or systematic reviews up to 6,000 words. Systematic reviews must follow PRISMA 2020 guidelines.
Up to 2,500 words. Follow CARE guidelines. Include patient consent statement.
Up to 2,000 words. Preliminary findings, brief reports, or technical notes.
Formatting Requirements
- Structure: Follow IMRAD format — Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion
- Abstract: Structured abstract, maximum 250 words with Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion
- Keywords: 4–6 keywords using MeSH terminology
- References: APA 7th edition or Vancouver style. Use reference management software (Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote)
- File Format: Microsoft Word (.docx) preferred. Figures as high-resolution TIFF/PNG (300 DPI minimum)
- Tables & Figures: Must be numbered sequentially with descriptive titles and legends
- Ethics: Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC/IRB) approval required for human/animal studies
- Plagiarism: Manuscripts screened via iThenticate. Similarity index must be <15%
Submission Preparation Checklist
Authors must confirm the following before submitting:
The manuscript is original, not previously published, and not under consideration elsewhere.
All authors meet ICMJE authorship criteria and have approved the final manuscript.
Ethical approval obtained and mentioned in the manuscript. Patient consent secured where applicable.
All financial and non-financial conflicts of interest have been disclosed.
Manuscript follows IMRAD structure, references are correctly formatted, and figures/tables are included.
A cover letter addressed to the Editor-in-Chief highlighting the significance and novelty of the work.

UJHSE charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) of USD 300 / INR 10,000 upon acceptance of a manuscript. This covers peer review management, editorial processing, DOI assignment, Crossref indexing, and hosting on our publishing platform.

Authors retain copyright of their work. Readers may share and redistribute the material in any medium, provided appropriate credit is given, it is not used commercially, and no derivatives are made.
