The Research Productivity Challenge
Many Indian academic institutions face a common challenge: faculty members are expected to publish, apply for grants, and mentor research students, yet they receive little formal training in research methodology, biostatistics, or scientific writing. The result is low publication output, reliance on predatory journals, and missed grant opportunities.
What is a Faculty Development Program (FDP)?
An FDP is a structured training program designed to enhance the research, teaching, and professional skills of faculty members. In the context of research, FDPs typically cover research methodology and study design, literature search and evidence synthesis, biostatistics (using SPSS, R, or Stata), scientific writing and publication ethics, grant proposal writing, and ethical practices in research (ICH-GCP, IEC/IRB processes).
Evidence of Impact
Research shows that institutions that implement structured FDPs see significant improvements: increased number of publications in indexed journals (Scopus, PubMed), higher success rate in competitive grant applications, improved quality of postgraduate theses and dissertations, greater adoption of evidence-based teaching methods, and enhanced institutional reputation and NAAC accreditation scores.
Our FDP Model
Utkarsh Research Network delivers customized FDPs that combine theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice. Our programs are available in online, offline, and hybrid modes, ranging from 3 to 5 days intensive. Each participant receives a certificate of completion (20-40 credit hours), and institutions receive a detailed report with recommendations for sustaining research culture.
Who Should Attend?
Our FDPs are designed for assistant and associate professors looking to boost their publication profile, department heads wanting to build research capacity, PhD guides and supervisors seeking to improve mentorship skills, medical college faculty preparing for NAAC/NBA accreditation, and institutional research cells aiming to increase funded projects.
Getting Started
If your institution is interested in hosting an FDP, contact us for a customized proposal. We can tailor the curriculum to your faculty's needs, arrange the program at your campus or online, and provide ongoing support through our institutional membership plan.
