Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 June 2026. Kavach is a road-safety service operated by Utkarsh Research Network (URN), India. By creating an account or using a Kavach tag, you agree to these terms.

1. What Kavach is — and isn't

Kavach is a QR safety tag that helps a person who finds your vehicle reach you and your emergency contacts, and dial public emergency numbers from their own phone. Kavach assists; it does not replace emergency services. We do not dispatch police, ambulance or fire, and we are not connected to the 112/ERSS system. In a real emergency, call 112 first.

2. Your account & accuracy

You're responsible for keeping your contact, vehicle and emergency-contact details accurate, and for your login security. By adding emergency contacts you confirm you have their consent to be contacted on your behalf. You must be 18+ to hold an account.

3. Plans, billing & "lifetime"

One-time plans (e.g. Basic, society tags, lifetime upgrades) are paid once. "Lifetime" means the service runs for the life of the account under fair use; it is tied to your account (not transferable for resale), and an account dormant for over 3 years may be archived after notice. Recurring plans (Premium, Family Shield) renew annually until cancelled; you can cancel anytime to stop future renewals. If a recurring plan lapses, your tag does not go dead — it falls back to core safety (the 112 page and an alert to you) and the paid features pause until you renew. Prices are in INR and include applicable taxes unless stated.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use Kavach to harass, stalk, spam or deceive anyone, to attach a tag to a vehicle you don't own or control, or to misuse the alert system. We rate-limit alerts and may suspend tags or accounts that are abused.

5. Availability & no guarantee of outcome

We work hard to keep the service running, but cannot guarantee that an alert, message or location will always be delivered or acted upon, or that any particular outcome (such as recovery of a vehicle or arrival of help) will result. Delivery depends on networks, devices and third parties outside our control.

6. Privacy

Your data is handled per our Privacy Policy and Trust Centre, aligned with the DPDP Act. We do not sell your data.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

8. Changes & governing law

We may update these terms and will post the new version here with a fresh date. These terms are governed by the laws of India, with courts at Bhubaneswar, Odisha having jurisdiction.
