Kavach is a vehicle safety service operated by Utkarsh Research Network. It lets a bystander reach a vehicle owner or their emergency contacts during a parking issue or an emergency — without ever revealing the owner's phone number.
From vehicle owners (with your consent, at registration): your name, email, phone number, vehicle details, and any emergency contacts or optional medical information you choose to add.
From people who scan a tag: only what you choose to send — an optional message and callback number, and your location only if you tap "Share my location." We also record basic technical details (a one-way hashed IP address, browser type, and timestamp) purely to prevent misuse.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Live location is always something you (or a helper) choose to switch on. It is never on by default, and we cannot turn it on for you. It is used in only two ways:
How we keep it safe:
This follows the DPDP Act's principles: it runs only on your consent (an explicit tap), for the single purpose of letting your chosen people find you in that ride or emergency, using the least data needed (current position only, no history), and is withdrawable any time by stopping the share or deleting your account. The location is stored only on servers in India and is erased with your account. We never sell it or use it for advertising.
A Kavach tag can protect a child. A child's tag may only be set up by the child's parent or legal guardian, who consents on the child's behalf. A child's information is used solely to reunite them with their family in an emergency. We never use a child's data for advertising, and a child is never live-tracked — at most a one-time location is shared with the family if a helper chooses to.
A scan's incident details (any message, callback number and shared location) are kept for up to 24 months — enough to support an FIR or insurance claim — then automatically deleted. Owners can update or delete their account and all linked data at any time — directly from your dashboard ("Delete my account" = withdraw consent and erase everything), or by contacting our grievance officer below.
Your account data is stored on servers located in India, protected with encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Optional medical information is additionally encrypted with a separate key and appears on a scan only if you explicitly switch it on — it is off by default.
To run the service we share the minimum necessary data with trusted processors: Razorpay (payments), Meta / WhatsApp (delivering your alert), an email provider (notifications), a QR-image service, and our hosting provider. Sending a WhatsApp alert or opening a map may involve some of these providers processing limited data outside India.
We do not sell your data, and never have.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, withdraw consent at any time, and nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf. The simplest way to withdraw consent is "Delete my account" on your dashboard; you may also contact our grievance officer below. If your concern is not resolved, you have the right to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Data breach: in the unlikely event of a personal-data breach, we will notify the affected users and the Data Protection Board of India without undue delay, as required by law.
If a tag is being used to harass, stalk, or track someone, tell us immediately and we will disable it.
Email grievance@utkarshresearchnetwork.in

Kavach helps you reach an owner and emergency contacts. It does not dispatch police, ambulance, or fire services and is not connected to any government emergency system. In a real emergency, always call 112 first.
